Raisons for using fibre cement or cement board.
The use of a thinner layer of decorative material (as low as 3 mm) maintained by a mechanical adhesion on a porous cement board allows, at much less production cost, to preserve luxurious appearance of natural stone at an affordable price.
Cement base panel have been tested in real production line to be able to be polished with granite polisher without any deformation cause by wet condition of granite machinery or cross cutting machinery.

Cement base product are the only affordable substrate in the market that can be use as a substrate for quartz surface product, for example, wood base substrate cannot be polished or cut with stone machinery.
Even after is fabrication, Quartz surface material have to be cut with wet diamond tool (like ceramic or natural stone), a wood base substrate cannot be cut with water without the expansion of the substrate. This new laminate product is light, resists to pressure and wet environment of natural stone polisher and cutter machinery. Moreover, this patent pending product have a high heat transfer capacity from the higher part towards the substrate (fibre cement), this heat absorbing properties prevents any separation of the product. This product is inimitable because wood or other available substrates do not collect heat, inevitably, the decorative part will take off. The compressive strength of the fibre cement panel (7000 pounds per squares inches) is fundamental and allows thinner decorative part (only 3 mm).
In fact, it is technically impossible to manufacture quartz surface sheet of less than 13 mm without substrate No other substrate other than fibre cement is able to keep its physical properties during the polishing and the curing process.
No other substrate can be polished or cut using stone machinery. No support other than fibre cement offers porosity needed to the direct adhesion of the resin. Only the fibre cement offers hardness and solidity needed to a low thickness quartz laminate.
The fibre cement will inspire confidence with architects and engineers because this technology is already used as exterior cladding (James Hardie, plycem, certainteed, csrfibrecement, Bnbm, Mahaphant, Nichiha, Siamcement, wehrhahn .)
The use of the fibre cement technology combined with quartz surfaces technology brings us a very new product which could become the largest candidate for the natural stone and plastic laminate, in fact, in the long term, this new technology will makes plastic laminate obsolete.
